Product Safety Information - String Art Sets

1. Age recommendation

Our String Art sets are suitable for ages 14 and up. Not suitable for children under 3 due to sharp nails and small parts.

2. Material safety

All materials comply with European safety standards. The wooden board is made of FSC-certified wood or MDF, the yarn is colorfast and non-toxic, and the nails are galvanized steel.

3. Warnings

  • Sharp Objects: Contains sharp nails. Risk of punctures or injury.
  • Hammering required: Use of a hammer is required. Risk of injury if used incorrectly.
  • Choking Hazard: Contains small parts (nails, wire). Not suitable for children under 3 years.
  • Supervision required: Children aged 10-14 must work under the direct supervision of an adult.
  • Eye protection: Preferably wear safety glasses when hammering.

4. Instructions for use

Work on a stable, flat surface that can withstand hammering (a workbench or sturdy, surface-coated table). Use a light hammer. Carefully hammer the nails into the wood according to the pattern. Keep your fingers away from the nail while hammering. Work in a well-lit area.

5. Required tools (not included)

  • Small hammer (max. 300-500 grams)
  • Safety glasses (recommended)
  • Protective layer for work surface
  • Good lighting

6. Allergens

The yarn and wood contain no known allergens. If you are sensitive to wood dust or textile materials, we recommend wearing gloves or contacting us.

7. Storage & Shelf Life

Store the set in a dry place, out of direct sunlight. Wood can shrink or expand in extreme humidity. The yarn is colorfast when stored correctly. Nails may rust in damp conditions – store in a dry place.

8. Maintenance of completed artwork

To prevent discoloration, do not hang the finished artwork in direct sunlight. Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Do not wet. Check periodically that the nails are still firmly in place.

9. Disposal

Wooden signs belong to wood waste or residual waste. Nails belong to metal recycling or residual waste. Residual yarn belongs to textile recycling. Cardboard packaging belongs to paper/cardboard recycling. Plastic packaging belongs to plastic waste.

10. Conformity

Our String Art sets comply with European consumer product regulations, including REACH. The wood is FSC-certified where possible.

11. Safety Tips

  • Check the set for completeness and damaged parts before use.
  • Use a light hammer - not a heavy sledgehammer
  • Don't drive nails too deeply - leave 5-8mm protruding above the wood
  • Work calmly and with concentration
  • Store loose nails in a container while working
  • Keep pets and young children away while hammering
  • Count nails before and after use
  • Do not wear loose clothing that can get caught
